HEY ALL YOU PEOPLE!
These are my three 3-value composition sketches for the next assignment to interpret a fantasy creature all your own. My creature is the Baba Yaga; a crazy old woman who enslaves children to do her bidding. I hope to get some good critique.

  1. Kendall, I know I already gave you my opinion on these thumbnails...but for the sake of instigating some critique back-and-forth from the others, I'll get the ball rolling:

    I feel the bottom image is working the best both in terms of value structure and composition. That image has a variety of angles and shapes that help move the eye through the entire picture plane. The first is far too stagnant, and the second seems to have no depth. The introduction of the diagonal in the bottom image helps break up the monotony of the verticals and horizontals.
