This looks really nice Virginia, it is very legible and easy to follow. I would, however, suggest moving the background sun over the left just a tiny bit to get it away from the edge. Also, I like the light grey borders that exceed past the black frames, but they are a little weird. I think they are in the middle of the road as far as how you handled them. By that, I mean, I think you need to either clean them up and make them nice and straight, or make their edges more ragged. The color palette is a little bizarre, but I find it interesting stylistically to handle it this way. It's got a little bit of a creepy vibe, but then you finish up with this pretty plant at the end...so, I think it's very successful as an illustration.
Thank you, I've already printed it so unfortunately I won't have these changes made in the version I bring into class tomorrow, but I understand what you mean about the borders and the sun. Anyway for the rest of the illustration I was kind of going for the feeling that you're in a deserted location in need of plant life. Glad to hear it works
